Ingleton is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is the home of the biggest and deepest caves in the country
Daves Adventure Company does all there caving in the yorkshire Dales, mainly around the ingleton area where the most spectacular caves are loccated.
Caving is the exploration of underground passages and caverns. Caves can be very big and roomy and very spectacular. Some caves are smaller or have small passages which are optional. Some caves are dry and some are wet you have maps and guidebooks for the caves so you know what to expect.
Caving can be done all year round as the temperature remains at a constant 8 degrees C. In dry caves you can wear old clothes and waterproofs and in wet caves we wear wetsuits. We also supply wellies, helmets, lights and all the technical and safety equipment.
Caving is a really good alternative to Ghyll Scrambling/Canyoning/Gorge Walking, particularly in inclement weather. The temperature underground is a constant 8 degrees and you are sheltered from the wind. Canyoning evolved when cavers decided to apply their skills above ground. In a cave there is the added excitement of darkness and a real sense of exploration.
Most children love the tight bits and the wet bits.
Caving Safety
Caves are a very safe environment as long as you have an experienced and qualified guide and have suitable equipment and clothing.
