Climbing takes place on rocky oucrops throughout the Lake District with many being suitable for families even with small children. There are also routes to challenge the most able climbers. Climbing can be done as a sole activity or easily combined with abseiling which can take place at the same venue.

Abseiling
Abseiling is going down a rockface or any steep / vertical or overhanging surface using a descender under your own control. You will be kept safe with an expertly supervised safety line.
Abseils can take place on friendly small sloping rocks for beginners and progress up to the massive 100 foot plus abseils down vertical cliffs and overhangs into free space (not for the feint hearted)
Abseiling can be a half day activity on its own or combined with a climbing day or another activity.
Why not try a combination of climbing and canoeing, or abseiling and ghyll scrambling.
Adventuremakers climbing courses are based around the Lake District Cumbria and Yorkshire, climbing in the best locations from Hutton Roof to Langdale from Coniston to Windermere.
